Alongside Freya Berkhout, Alyx carved out Kyü’s raw, emotive sound. Along the way they won a swag of awards and lit up the airwaves, including an Album of the Week slot here at Fbi. Kyü went their separate ways back in 2010 and since then Alyx has collaborated with Jonathan Boulet and played alongside Sydney’s Richard In Your Mind.

‘LAX’ is a teaser from Alyx’s first solo material. The song is a wistful evocation of a chance encounter in an airport with Alyx’s distinctive vocals soaring over a gentle acoustic guitar.

Now based in Melbourne Alyx will be playing her solo material for the first time at the All Our Friends gig this Saturday, 22nd of June, curated by Rice Is Nice and Popfrenzy.
