For the last couple of years, the three members of The Walking Who occupied an enchanting deceased estate in Wollongong – a space known as ‘The Mansion’.

Transforming the house into an artistic playground, the band soaked themselves in the ‘60s nostalgia and creepy-crawly quirk of the Mansion, and then wrung it out in an audible form. It is as though the trio have been wandering down the streets of psychedelia and taking cuttings of their favourite sounds, shapes and thoughts, and now they offer us the bouquet: the ‘Mansions’ EP.

With deep, dirty vocals and creeping organ progressions that Ray Manzarek would admire, these tracks hook you in and sit you down in front of the fireplace in someone else’s home, years and worlds away.

The Walking Who stake out their own corner of the psych-rock scene and decorate it with reverb, muffled drum kicks, closed eyes and nodding heads.

Now the Mansion has been demolished, and The Walking Who rise from its ashes. This is their time – so pay attention.
