Ears Have Ears
with Brooke Olsen, Scarlett Di Maio & Guest Artists
VOXIE Award winning program Ears Have Ears: Unexplored Territories in sound, presents weekly experimental soundtracks, unique performances and unusual mixtapes created specifically for the show by artists whose musical output is simultaneously exciting, innovative and at times challenging.
The brief is simple, artists are asked to dream up a soundtrack of their own imagining. The results range from sound art, radiophonic work, experimental music, free jazz, psychedelia, electronica, noise, bent dance music and sounds which teeter on the forefront of new music.
Alongside feature contributions, Ears Have Ears also showcases the best in forward thinking music. If it’s unique, curious and undefinable you’ll hear it here first.
We ask artists to play live for you in the studio often also, especially those with limited releases or new collaborations on the horizon.
PAST GUESTS: Deep Magic (USA), Rites Wild, Scanner (UK), Thomas William vs Scissor Lock, Stitched Vision, Treasure Hunt (USA), Bum Creek, Haunts, Unwar, Alex White, Gail Priest, Kynan Tan, Constant Light, Jon Hunter, K Mason, Rainbow Chan, Super Critical Mass, Option Command & many many more.

Thursday 13/6/13 9pm-11pm
This week our soundtrack comes from Perth’s experimental guitarist Craig McElhinney. Craig creates improvised glacial drone loops, meandering doom improvisations and atmospheric ambience, created with a 12-string acoustic guitar, noise gadgets and a sampler.
We also catch up with Adelaide multi-disciplinary artist Jason Sweeney (Pretty Boy Crossover / Panoptique Electrical) who is currently in town to present ‘Stereopublic (Crowdsourcing the Quiet)‘ at ISEA. The Stereopublic project encourages city dwellers to map the silent parts of their surroundings.
Tune in from 9pm this Thursday to hear his beautiful soundtrack contribution for Ears Have Ears.
