When it comes to drama, emotion, and more general forms of entertainment, you can’t beat a good ol’ murder. Somehow murdering in times gone by is even more entertaining. Just released, the clip for Lily So and the Bellows debut single Smokin’ Gun is kind of like an episode of Miss Marple… only a whole lot sexier and with less knitting. Existing in 2013 Redfern, but dreaming of 1960s New York and Paris, the band was hatched and nurtured in our own very local incubator. Which makes them awesome. They’ve played at Melodica international folk festival, Bondi Music Festival, Jurassic Lounge and Peats Ridge in 2011. Smokin’ Gun sees Lily’s warm, jazzy vocals weave between a cool, lazy beat. But don’t take our word for it.
