If you haven’t heard Jannah Beth yet, you’re missing out on a talented young artist who produces a unique mix of smooth raps and experimental beats.

Hailing from Sydney’s Inner West, her debut single ‘Cut Sick’ shows how hip hop and electronic music influenced her growing up. We dug the track so much when it first came out that we named Jannah Beth as our independent artist of the week. Now there’s a Sydney-centric video to accompany it, which we’re pleased to premiere here.

The film clip was produced by Vuk Mikic, who Jannah Beth met through an eclectic group of creatives she lived with in Camperdown. “We spent a few days cruising around Sydney, visiting locations we thought would best visually represent the story of the song,” she says. “Like peak hour in Central tunnel, and also finding spots along the way, like the lounge in the alleyway, which turned out to be my favourite location. It was a great experience of mates working together, guerrilla filming in a city that is one we call home!”

The result is a visual montage of familiar sights – from driving over the Harbour Bridge to the city bus queue and rooftop parties. It’s a uniquely ‘Sydney’ take on city life. Check out the video below and catch Jannah Beth live at The PLOT in November – details below.
