Backchat is looking for a Social Media Producer

Backchat is FBi Radio’s politics and current affairs program. We broadcast live each Saturday morning at 11am, bringing you half an hour of interviews, talkback, reporting and discussion. We cover current issues in a way that’s smart, fun and never condescending.

Backchat is looking for a Social Media Producer to join our team of volunteers. This role is responsible for creating online content and managing Backchat’s social media channels. You’ll have a strong grasp of news and current affairs as well as an online writing style that matches the show’s on air tone.

We’re after someone who can commit to six hours per week for a minimum of six months. This is a volunteer role.

You’ll need to be available to live tweet the program on Saturday mornings and stick around afterwards to upload audio and publish stories. You’ll also need to be in close contact with the Executive Producer throughout the week to update the program’s social media channels in the lead up to the show. Occasionally, you’ll be required to make create some supplementary video content.

If you’re a young gun who’s quick to learn, get in touch! Ideally we’re after someone with:
– experience managing profiles across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
– experience in writing for online
– video editing skills

To apply, please email backchat@fbiradio.com with Social Media Producer in the subject line, and address the criteria above. Please include links to previous published work and/or social channels you’ve managed, and pitch two ways that you would promote an old episode in the week leading up to the show.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday August 25th.
