Inspired by her love for telling stories via song, Sydney-based solo artist Makaw draws creativity from electronic landscapes and the desire to tell the naked truth. For her, songwriting is about diving in head first, getting beneath the surface of the everyday and uncovering what lies beneath. Her creative drive stems from the need to find a sonic home for these stories.

Makaw’s sound finds itself somewhere among the likes of Portishead, Feist, Thom Yorke and Lykke Li. Her debut single ‘Tell Me Why’ was only released on August 27, and we’re already head over heels. Have a listen to the stunning, whispery vocals on the track below:
