Independent Artist Of The Week: Los Tones

December 5th 2016

Garage psych-rock outfit Los Tones combine their love of 60’s surf rock and fuzzy psychedelic noise on ‘The Door’.

The Sydney four piece have been annihilating eardrums with nostalgic fuzz and jangle for a few years now, with their debut album Psychotropic released in 2014. Since then, they have toured South America and Europe twice, as well as stints in Brazil and Japan. Along the way, they have played with international acts including Guitar Wolf, Night Beats, King Khan & BBQ Show, The Mummies and Acid Baby Jesus.

Mixed and produced by Owen Penglis (Straight Arrows), ‘The Door’ builds on the relentless scrappy energy that we’ve come to expect of Los Tones. As the first taste of their sophomore album, due some time next year, we’ve got a good vibe on this one. If there’s one local garage band you want to get familiar with for the new year, it’s these guys.
