Story Club

Cracking a joke about a recent tragedy can be a dangerous affair. Telling that one you’ve been saving up all day can be met with a cold stare and the reproachful: “Too soon, man. Too soon.”

Story Club avoids this thorny problem by bringing humour to long-passed times of sadness with the subtitle: “Tragedy + Time (=Comedy)”.

Poetry Night at Sappho

This monthly instalment of Sappho’s famous poetry night features the talent of Alex Skovron, Robyn Rowland, Tricia Dearborn, Andy Kissane. It has a great vibe and an open mic night where you can share your own creations!

Heavy Artillery

White Rabbit Gallery is open again! Hoorah! They’ve once again outdone themselves with the latest exhibition of contemporary Chinese art.

Heavy Artillery is a group exhibition that highlights the immense physical labour and skill in process based works, whilst also exploring the use of art as a weapon.

Daniel Boyd & Nyapanyapa Yunupingu

To coincide with the 20th Biennale of Sydney, Roslyn Oxley9 opens two new solo exhibitions by Daniel Boyd and Nyapanyapa Yunupingu. Boyd presents new paintings of canvas, while Yunupingu presents new paintings on bark.

Creatives talk beach inspiration

I AM SEA ~ Closing event

To mark the close of their latest exhibition I AM SEA, Interlude Gallery are hosting a performance by Honey Long and artist talk by Ellen Hewitt.

Long’s performance ‘Flubba Blubba’ responds to I AM SEA through an exploration of the mermaid as a symbol of femininity.

Guringai Aboriginal Tour

The land surrounding the Village Farm has a special Aboriginal history and Uncle Laurie from the tribe will be performing a special introduction ceremony and tour of the land.
